I want to make sure that everyone understands that this Island Campaign is really a playtest. I have done several of these type games before using SPWAW and SP2 but never with SPMBT. The rules will be modified as we go along. If problems arise we will work through them and create rules to cover them for future campaigns. Some of this will be made up by me as we go along, mostly to keep everyone involved and the game progressing. I may break fighting in a particular zone into more than 1 battle in an Operational Turn. It is not being done to interfere or penalize any one team, it is mainly to give more players chance to get involved in the actual SPMBT fighting, which is what most players are here for. No one player will control a specific unit (unless the team sets itself up that way). Battles will be assigned out among the team players by the team but I want the team to take into considered they may have others on the team who would like a chance to fight.

Questions, comments, etc., please post here.

Yep, thats exactly how I understood the game to be, as a test campaign (although i will still take it seriously in the operational and tactical game) I realize this is new for you so I am prepared for there to be rule changes or tweaking, im easy about that.

Also the plan is that everyone gets a go, thats the priority I think, we are here to have fun. I have come up with a few ideas about strategy in this and im open to them as well. I don't feel there is a need to be running the show, but at the end of the day we need co-ordination in our strategy so someone needs to make a final decision.

From what you have seen so far DD are we moving along ok?

Yes, all sides have been hard at work planning their start locations. this is the 1st major hurdle. Once these are done the game can really start. What I will do this weekend is set a deadline for posting of start locations.

I`m very excited about being involved in this. Should be a learning process for us all, and a enjoyable game for everyone.

I`m finding the planning and preperation side particularly interesting, but I`m also looking forward to some action ;)
