What should be used as the players core force nationality for the 1st official Multi-player User Combat Campaign? Players would command a company size unit from an available nation and depending on theme/theater there may be more than one nation available for players to choose from. For example, if on the East Front - Crimea players could choose Romanian or German commands. If early Western Front, players could possibly choose, French, British, Belgian, etc.
Please specify in this thread if you have specific unit of interest but be sure to vote as well.
NOTE: This would be organized after the playtesting run of "Operation Compass" is completed.

The poll is now open and ready for your votes. If you have any interest in participating or would like to see this happen even only as a spectator please vote and post your thoughts.
This poll will help determine the player's core force nationality and eventually help determine the core force OOB's.

I decided to make a change and add Canada to the list of playable nations rather than have them included as part of the "Other Allied Minor" option. ;)

Lots of votes for the Soviet Union and Germany. I guess that indicates a desire for an East Front Campaign.
Next questions might be, what date/time period - what battle?
Winter fighting in defense of Moscow might be fun.
Kursk is the way to go. We are talking about Steel Panthers don't we? :D
Artur.

After a short calculus I got 6 for Russia and 7 for Western Allies, doesn't that mean that the West Front got more votes?

Yeah, but wouldn't that rule out the Finns? ;)
Sorry my mistake, east front it is then :) but the date still stands, 12/39.
I'm happy as long as you keep delivering the campaings, no matter if it's east, west, north or south (or something in between) front.

Sorry my mistake, east front it is then :) but the date still stands, 12/39.Well, it seems the Soviets and Germans are leading the pack at this point, question is which of the 2 would the players command?
I have some ideas, and material such as OOB's and operational maps for a Kursk (German PanzerGrenadier Regiment) or Moscow 41 (Soviet Independent Mech Brigade) vs AI Campaign. ;)
You can always get your fix using the Finns in the WinSPMBT version of this, although it will be funny seeing Finn Para's running around the coast and jungles of Nigeria.
I like the "Moscow variant".
IMHO Kursk has been 'overplayed' a little in the past.

Yeah, my Finns will show you how to move in jungle like the apes that we are.
For entertainment it is better for AI to have the numerically superior side, it can't use sophisticated tactics which is necessary to succeed against greater odds (how much fun do you get from destroying an immod panzer and a platoon of half starved men with a tank company ... against AI). I would choose Germans at Kursk or GERMANS at Moscow.
