I was wondering how long does it take some of the more experienced players to plan their turns? I can take 30m to more than an hour.

Appartently not enough time--I just got my rear end kicked by the AI

30 minutes sounds about right for me.

Well, first of all, a game like DA rewards planning, so, the more you plan, the better your results. Proper use of NAI's, TAI's and IEW/PSYOPS units are critical. Also, proper use of ADA assets to protect HQ's and other high-value targets is critical.

Another key is doing your logistics. This is critical because allowing the game to automatically do your logistics will either leave some units hanging with too little, or get your convoys killed because it doesn't play routes unless you go manual.

DA can be as involved or as simple as you want to make it. You can plan/play a simple battle against the computer, or, theoretically, you could have up to 15 players responsible for a number of units on both sides of the game.
