Which games developer or developers have been your favourite in 2006?
I would have to say mine has been Kojima Productions. You can tell they have been hard at work this year with Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence released for the PS2, Metal Gear Ac!d 2 released for PSP, Metal Gear Solid: Digital Graphic Novel released for PSP and Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops released for PSP, all whilst Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patroits has been in development for the PS3. Overall this year has been a great haul for fans of the Metal Gear series such as myself and whats more its great to see Kojima Productions making great quality PSP games and supporting the system when few others have.
EDIT: I would also like to add that Kojima Productions have kept us informed about MGS4 throughout the year too, offering tidbits of informations to keep the fans happy. :)
The makers of Civ IV gave me the most gaming fun in 2006, so I guess I have to say them.
Of course I have to say SE.
SE definately. They've bought out a lot of games and announcements for ff13 and versus. Especially since 2006 was the end of a long wait for kh2 :p
SquareEnix, for bringing me the awesomeness that is Dragon Quest VIII and Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria.

For once not Bungie. If I had too, it either be Epic (GoW), or Relic (Company of Heroes, Dawn of War, etc). I feel I'm missing one :/

I concur,as when I thought the civ series had palled in appeal, after playing the previous iterations ad nauseam, Civ IV pretty surprises me by presenting a totally revamped game systems that are implemented on an already solid foundation.:smoke:
Civ IV, yes; also Ubi for Heroes V.
SquareEnix, for bringing me the awesomeness that is Dragon Quest VIII and Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria.
Level 5, for developing the awesomeness that is Dragon Quest VIII. :p And telling me that they're not only working on a game for the PSP (Jeanne D'Arc), but also for the DS (Professor Layton and the Mysterious Village), the PS2 (Rogue Galaxy) and the PS3 (White Knight Story). And, most importantly, for saying that work on True Fantasy Live Online hasn't completely stopped since it got cancelled. :D
And Namco Bandai deserve a mention, well Namco, for their plans on re-releasing previous Tales games, and Bandai, for porting the last part of The Legend of Heroes trilogy... meh, they'll all have the Namco Bandai logo on them. :p It looks like they won't be porting the first two games of the series, the Dragonslayer games, anytime soon, but hopefully they'll announce that they'll be translating LOH VI: Sora no Kiseki in the near future. :D
And, most importantly, for saying that work on True Fantasy Live Online hasn't completely stopped since it got cancelled. :D
Seriousley? :surprise: I imagine it won't be appearing on a Microsoft platform any time soon though after the disagreements they had (MS were apparantly frustrated with Level-5's innexperience with net code and the trouble they had implementing voice chat, Level-5 were apparantly frustrated with Microsofts demands and criticized their handling of Japanese developers, somthing which MS at least seems to have turned around in the past couple of years thankfully)...that game looked stunning, and was my 2nd most anticipated MMO behind Age of Conan - if this came out on PS3 i'd probally buy one just to play it, same goes for Everquest III.
I was about to give you the link to the article i read but i thought it was on Wikipedia and it's not there. If i find it i'll post it here.
I agree. I doubt it'll ever appear on a Microsoft console, so it's more likely to appear on the PS3. But as long as it gets released someday, i don't care: i'll be buying the PS3 anyway for White Knight Story. :p
EDIT: Here's one little bit about it: IGN: True Fantasy Online Resurrected? (http://uk.xbox.ign.com/articles/577/577269p1.html)
