At last the first demo of Armed Assault (aka ArmA) is out.

This is a multiplayer demo that allows you to play three different games:
1) Cooperative (1-8 players). An infantry platoon is to seize a small town guarded by unknown number of enemy infantry and armor.
2) Capture The Flag (1-16 players). Well... that is. Take enemy flag and bring it to your base.
3) Capture The Island (1-60 players). Conquer the whole island by capturing the bases. "Build" units in your bases for defending or attacking. Plan airborne infiltrations, send recon units to monitor enemy activity and launch full conventional assaults to control enemy bases.

I've played with my friends using TeamSpeak and the game is a blast. For the first time ever, TEAMWORK IS A MUST. If you are a CoD, DoD or CS player, forget about how fast, how accurate and how brilliant you are in those games. In ArmA you are nothing. You go by your own and you are dead, as simple as that.

EDIT: Damn, I forgot to post the link. There you go: click here (http://www.armedassault.com/downloads.html)

Yes this game is a blast. I have joined my old OFP clan and we coop is one of the best ever. Forget everything about Rambo missions. The AI can sometimes be so stupid and sometimes ultra hardcore.

(I'm running the german download version 1.02 translated to english)

Yeah, the AI is unpredictable. When under fire, sometimes they just hit the ground and crawl like snakes... or they take cover and try to flank you.

The AI has a great aim, far better than any human. It's very difficult to succeed in a face to face encounter with an AI enemy. That's why tactics and planning are important... as well as teamwork to implement them.

I'm skint, thus I'll wait until the English version release in February to get my hands on it. I envy you. When I get the game, I'll PM you to arrange for good game. :ar15:
