View Full Version : Command Structure

Here we need to discuss the team structure or who will be doing what. Each team can be different and nothing is written in stone. Responsibilities can change back and forth between players as needed due to RL issues or based on available free time.

What I need is a lead person (Force Commander) for each team. Based on the enlistment emails I received, Aristide has elected to be the Force Commander. He will be the approving authority for planning and stuff although he can delegate/assign ANY responsibilies he sees fit to. What is planned is things run more like a team than a rigid Chain of Command.

Questions, comments?

We will work out specific jobs as we go. I would like to keep this more of a team game, rather then having a rigid Chain of Command. Each team will have a captain (Force Commander) so to speak who is basically the lead person to make sure OOB's are updated, orders posted etc. Mainly he just needs to be a motivator and person to keep things moving along. Once fighting starts, everyone who wants to, participate in the battles.

No one will really have dedicated unit assignments. Once fighting starts battles will be farmed out to available players.

ok if we could just have Aristide come and intoduce himself, that would be a good start

I have emailed him instructions but in the meantime feel free to start working up a structure.

I think the size of the Tank units are too small to have a commander dedicated to them at this point in time. initially i propose we attach our tanks to support infantry, say one tank platoon per infantry force(whatever that consists of).

Of course we could build a dedicated armoured company later or maybe some heavily armed recon companies.

Im spending a lot of time in front of the computer these days(writing essays) so I have been here quiet frequently and I dont mind being the Force Commander (administrator).

One question, when do you foresee the campaign getting underway?

It has kind of started. We need to get everone understanding it is a team game and get the intial unit locations set. ONce all uinitsr are set I will ask for the 1st Turn orders be posted. I will walk everyons through the format and stuff when that timne comes because I want to keep with a standard format. I may also have to create subforum for each teams subforum.

What do you think about naming somebody to act as a fake commander, to facilitate communications with the UN again. I feel comfortable fighting two determined enemies, we could make a deal at least with the UN. Temujin is doing a great job, he would be the real commander, naturally, but somebody else would fool around in the diplomatic channels. (I could do it, or Aristide, he is very eloquent.)

yep go ahead, aristide hasnt been around for a while, so you are free to have a go, be cautious tho it will be a two way street of espionage when dealing with them.
