Received AATF earlier this week, but the wife has hidden it as it was technically a Christmas present and as such will only be allowed to re-appear on Christmas Day!!
:(
On the positive side - upgraded my Dell Inspiron laptop to 1Gb RAM and the demo runs SO smoothly now - it's fantastic!

Very cool! I have no idea what my wife has gotten me, and I love that!
Be careful, though...AATF can be a consuming little affair. Maybe you can teach your wife how to play as a "thank you"!:devious:
Bah Humbug!
As anyone else in the UK not received the game in time for Christmas. The last delivery was this morning and guess what? No little package for yours truly.
Well not to worry, I’m sure it will arrive shortly after Boxing Day, so I’ll take this opportunity to wish Pat, Curt and all my fellow gamers a Great Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Aaaah! Christmas at last!
Played JRTC01 on the full game after playing it several times in the demos to see what had changed. Maybe I'm actually learning from my mistakes but managed to occupy the airfield at a cost of only three infantry squads (I normally lose a couple of choppers too).
Had a slight problem with assigning aviation platoons 'insert dismounts' missions from PZ C. Four of the five helicopters would land and load troops but the fifth would not land (due to lack of clear terrain maybe?) The whole platoon basically sat at PZ C for over an hour before I manually cancelled the order, moved the aviation platoon elsewhere and used another to assign the same 'insert dismounts' order to. Probably my own poor troop management at work here I suspect.
(The other reason for playing JRTC01 was that it was the quickest which meant the family were unlikely to miss me for a couple of hours on Chritmas Day!)
One question though - I notice on the Shrapnel Games website there is a free scenario pack for ATF. Can these be played in AATF, backwards compatability and all that?
Merry Christmas all!!

PS The typos in the manual are minor. Didn't detract from my enjoyment one bit. It's nice to see a reasonably thick manual (and when you add in the pdf docs on the disc that's a lot of holiday reading!)
All of the previous ATF titles are backwards compatable with AATF.

The ATF Scenario Pack IS backwards compatible with AATF, but it requires files found only in Armored Task Force to load correctly. You will have to have AATF installed over ATF for the ATF scenario pack to run in AATF.

I suspected as much.
Thanks Pat
