Map editing question

A basic question on the Afghanistan Maps...when I zoom in, there are a ton of blue symbols throughout the map. What are these?

Those are probably the SBF markers on the AI Help Map. To remove them, select "Options" from the view menu and then un-click "AI Help Map" and select OK.
