Some may view the "console wars" as a bad thing, but it seems to be a good opportunity from the consumers' point of view. Gamers now have lots of choices, with game systems to match almost any budget.
If you could have only one of the new consoles now available, which would it be?

The one I have now, the Wii. ;)
Playstation 3, to go on ebay. Then I would buy a Wii, and have some extra money.

Dude it's not for selling thing, what console would be the one you'll like to have.
360 - because quite simply theres far more games that i'm interested in coming out for the 360 than any of the other consoles.
360 for me. Love the games on it and the graphics pwn too.
PS3 for being the JRPG King.

PS3 for me :p Final Fantsay being the big seller for me
the thing with 360 is that alot of the good games eventually come out on PC, so i can put up with not having that console.
Just got my 360, very pleased so 360 :D

I wouldn't say alot of the games come out on PC. None of the 360 titles available at the moment are going to be released on PC (barring PC ports like Oblivion of course and games developed by primarily PC developers like BioWare (Mass Effect)) - pretty much only Halo 3 and Fable 2 are guaranteed to come out on PC, but not for at least a year after their 360 release, and Live Anywhere titles like Shadowrun are being developed with a dual 360/PC release in mind - but beyond that theres loads and loads of games that will never see the light of day on PC.
A few big games do come out on the PC though Bootaaay simply because its microsoft :p

Half Life is a good example, was a PC game now out on other platforms, and its a kick ass game

PS3 for its free online service and Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. :D Also for backwards compatability with my PS1/PS2 games (even if there are a few problems with that at the moment :(). Plus I could interact with a PS3 via my PSP which is a nice bonus (through the remote play feature :)).
I made my bet on the Wii and i'm sticking with it.
I can't wait to get my hands on this little thing!
I won't be lookin gat getting a 360 until middle of next year and ps3 untill the end of next year, or the start of the year after. After my wii i'm getting a Black DS lite tho... lol
But yeh.. Wii for me... the concept of it is just so awesome with some amazing games coming out soon!
i have a 360 xD So im goign PS3 :)

Interesting. As of this writing, the results of this poll almost mirror the respective market share each of these three companies holds.
Sony still holds 40%+ of the market share? I thought that dropped this year. I was thinking they would lose it and gain it back in the next 3 years or so.

This article is one year old, but at that time Sony held 70% of the console market in the US. Microsoft and Nintendo held 15% each.
Since that time Microsoft has made considerable progress, but I don't have exact figures.

thats a big progress by microsoft, but isnt it due to the fact that they released so early?
Nintendo also gained ground with the DS.

Your numbers are today pointless now Don, the Wii and DS from Nintendo are beating the snot out of the "other guys" as far as numbers sold go. The PS3 can only dream of moving this many units.
Should also mention, the top two all time best selling units are not from Sony or MS.
To answer the Poll I pick the Wii. Not so much that I want it (might have a use for my DS I guess), but so I can score points with my son hehe.
