The game looks prety kwl ya, but its nothing special imho.
The game is awesome. Im willing to buy an xbox 360 just to play this game, thats how good it is. Unfortunately im not rich :( :dead:
what makes this game so cool?
the graphics, art style and detail is crazy. The action is awesome. Its futuristic :p and its an "epic" game. :D The only bad points it had from reviews by professional reviewers and player/ user reviews were that its story was sometimes ignored and always brought in as an excuse to shoot and that the single player campaign is really short. Theres people saying they've completed the game in like 6-8 hours. :(

This game is so popular because it looks *fun*...remmember fun? It's kinda important. It took one 5 minute video of a multiplayer session being played from e3 to convince me to buy this game, i've had it on pre-order for months.

Must admit the detail on screen looks really immersive, the way the camera follows the character round is really good. Shaking and juddering in time with the action as if your being followed by a news reporter.
Oh and the guns have chainsaws :D

it looks really good, but kind of repetitive...
im looking fwd to it [if i ever even get a 360...looking more and more unlikely] but violence is always good.
The game looks great and will definetly be one of the best games released at the end of this year. I don't think it has lasting power though. I just think more people will enjoy "Run and Gun" to "Stop and Pop" style shooters.
Not to mention the reviews were retarded. "This has been done before...and this could have been improved....and this was fun but was done on this game better......WE GIVE IT A 10!"
Almost every review picked it apart then gave it a 10 anyways lol. It got graded on its PR...not its gameplay.
One thing is for sure...I would have bought this game if I wasn't getting a new tv soon.
I disagree, by all acounts the online mode sounds stunning and is running practically lag free which is more than can be said for other shooters on the 360, this alone leads me to believe GoW has more than enough lasting power - also, I think GoW will have a much larger online userbase than other stop n pop shooters like Ghost Recon.
And what big name game isn't released amid a swarm of frothing fanboy PR reviews? Bully getting a straight 10 from 1up? FFXII getting a 10 from OPM?
Bully doesn't deserve a 10. FFXII is very close to one IMHO...but still not quite.
I won't disagree that this will be the most popular stop and pop shooter....but do you think it will survive through Mass Effect and Halo 3? I personally do not see that happening..I see it getting abandoned and played casually.
It won't survive H3, but I don't expect that to hit until this time next year anyways - Mass Effect, despite looking and sounding absolutly freaking amazing, is still a BioWare RPG and probally just wont sell on the level of shooters like GoW or Halo. I just don't see any title other than GoW dominating Xbox Live for the next year or so - except maybe COD3.

I watched the video review (http://www.gametrailers.com/player.php?id=14748&type=wmv) yesterday and it just looks amazing, they said that the story was a little lacking and has points where it could lead to a very good plot/cut scene sorta thing but there's nothing and they said the way that the 'A' button is used for too many things, over simplifying it...
Still.. Next Friday!

Perhaps I grade too hard....because I won't give 9's or 10's easily to any game. It makes me feel a little wierd that this game got a perfect 10 and that no game will ever be better. This is a great game...don't get me wrong...probably one of the best....but a 10??
So GOW is as good as video games get? Thats why I have the problem because I think Xbox 360, PS3 and even the Wii can all do better in the next few years to come.

I agree. It seems to be based on the Educational system where kids are expected to get around 70% atleast.
