Blizzard: "major project announcement in 2007"

According to the Blizzard Chief Operation Officer Paul Sams, there will be a "major project announcement in 2007." No clue on when or what title, but Sams did provide IGN with another tasty quote,

"StarCraft is my absolutely favorite game of all time. As you probably already know, there is no doubt that we will continue the StarCraft and Diablo franchise, and trust me, I will be the happiest person in the world when we announce StarCraft 2."
Blizzard currently has three other titles in the works, excluding the aforementioned "major project" set for a 2007 unveiling. Of those four, we expect one to be another expansion (http://www.joystiq.com/2006/08/24/blizzard-planning-new-wow-expansions-every-year/) for World of Warcraft. Is Blizzard working on sequels to StarCraft and Diablo 2? Of course they are, they'd be a fool not to continue those franchises.

Regardless of what title is announced, it will likely take years before we see anything tangible. Blizzard is notoriously secretive, but have a very envious track record with their projects.

Nah the Baldurs Gate series is by BioWare (Neverwinter Nights, Jade Empire, Icewind Dale, Knights of the Old Republic, Mass Effect etc)

its Starcraft 2 Woot omg you guys it looks so good i might take time off of world of warcraft to play it any one kno what the time frame is for the intended release date? and what are your views on the rumored new race? is there one or isnt there one? what do you think!

I never really got too much into Starcraft - the one I'm waiting for with baited breath (no fish jokes please :laugh: ) is Diablo III.

Hmm wonder when thats coming out?? been twitching for Diablo III for a long time now. Thats going to be hard, Will have to find the time for that game and wow..lol

I'm excited about SC2, my friends and I used to play 2v2 SC all the time, they have stopped gaming since then, hope this brings them back and maybe into WoW. I was by far the suckiest at SC of the 4 of us, but kicked butt at WC2, hopefully after getting better at WC3 I'll whoop them when sc2 comes out, w00t w00t!

I definitely will. I'm gona have to play with them because I hardly hang out with them and they get upset. But I'm either with my girl, working, or school. So I'll have to play SC2 so they can stop crying, lol

I defenitely WON'T get SC2. It's not that i hate the game, I think it's pretty cool. I just SUCK at all RTS games, as a rule.
