I need to get an idea of how many SPMBT players we have here at WFHQ so please post here if you are one. I have an idea for a game (multiplayer not elimination tournement). It is just an idea in my head at this point and I will probably need at least 6-8 players. There will also be a need for a Team Captain/Commander for each side. Let me hear if you are interested or might be interesed in this or want to hear more.
My fellow gamer mates have a try at this!!!
Just feel the difference between the good old WWII stuff and the modern gizmos . You won't regret it ! :devious:
Artur.
I am definately on, if I get the game running on my XP,if not I will reinstall 98 next week.

I'm game - I designed a few of the scns when SP:MBT first came out...including the horrible Groznyy scn...
v3 is due out, so I suggest we wait until it makes an appearance before starting, so everyone is on the same foot -> believe me, if you've only played SP:ww2 or WAW you will take a while to get the hang of all the modern things in SP:MBT ;)
TA ATGMS, VIRSS, EW, etc etc - makes it much more interesting, but takes a little while to master how to effectively use a lot of units :)

This will not be anything starting right away. I will have to pull together some stuff, create OOB's, an Operational Map, Rules, etc. This would be a small test project to see if the Combat Campaigns style system will work. Unfortunately SPMBT does not have the utilities available to it like SPWAW for cropping out sections of maps and importing them into the game editor. This makes it very difficult to create large map areas before the campaign starts since you can't just carve out the area where particular contact is made. I am considering the idea of using zones or areas on the Operational Map instead of using a campaign tool such as COCAT or a hex based map. Units would be be given movement orders from zone to zone and not hexes or distance (miles/kilometers). Time would be based on turns and not hours or days.
Here is the DRAFT MAP (http://www.combat-campaigns.com/ccclub/SPMBT.jpg) I am planning to use. It is about 1/2 MB in size. Zones are shown by black outlines.
Hi! I have SPMBT but have never tried it pbem vs human. I'd like to give it a shot. Anyone up for a small game (hopefully willing to give some pointers)?
Hi,
Up for this for sure....this is what I joined for just (see my post in "opponents wanted")
Oh, Willy, I`m looking for a game now. Can`t say I`m an expert player though ;)

How big an area does the draft map represent?
It is just an island and there is no size scale for the overall operational map or zones. Zones are basically just regional areas and units can only move 1 zone per turn. Think of them as hexes with all units having a 1 hex move rate except as deterimined under any "special" rules.
count me in for any campaign, or if anyone wants a game
I would like to participate.
