ALCON:

The more I think about it, the best option, after playing the hotseat
option
many times, attacking south, and early release of 1 PZ army is the way
I
plan to approach it.

Why?
1. I am hoping he deploys his 2nd Guard Army North or center, which
will
allow me time to launch a supporting attack across the bridge and an
airdrop
on the main east west bridge, to block any reinforcements. In the
meantime
the main effort in the south I can get to the 1st river in 1 turn while
destroying most of his units enroute.
2. The center is tempting, but the super river between you and the
pocket
is hard to overcome. IT is KEY TERRAIN a natural obstacle which he can
defend easily. I am ruling out the North option, but as MikeJ said,
their
is the chance to destroy some units and might have the element of
surprise.
3. The southern route is wide open, and if we get to the pocket, they
will
be supplied and available for action.
4. The sooner we open a supply route to the pocket the better our
chances
are tom defeat the soviets.
5. 1st PZ Army I think I will use MikeJ's idea, defend with 2
divisions,
and push the other 4 divisions forward. My intention is to push hard
in the
center to hit his attempts to reinforce the southern area.

Just some thoughts, GL

the best way to defeat this german plan is to hit him hard somewhere else. quite frankly it doesn't matter what he is doing if you are smashing through his lines and going to cut off his army. he will have to change plans! by attacking where his army isn't we gain control of the game.
