From Furocity:

Destroy every bridge where we think he will attack North and South of our main Effort. Employ a defense in depth. Buy time for space.

Try to form a mobile reserve North and South in order to attack any of his forces that might break through. If he over extends his lines, we might get lucky and destroy some of those units. At the minimum it will force him to halt any breakthrough in order to consolidate his lines. Buying us some time.

From Mike J:

A handy tip and one that I think we'll see a lot in this scenario is to anticipate a Soviet breakthrough.. keep strong forces in the area but let him crack your frontline. Immediately reinforce the shoulders with strong forces. Most of the players out there will take advantage of a breakthrough they attain, no matter the circumstances - only the perceptive ones are willing to evaluate a breakthrough and, if necessary, hold back a forward rush through it. This means they start funnelling troops through the breach. Use weak forces to contain (just enough so they don't have free movement - the idea isn't to hold territory. Also, you need to maintain the illusion that it's not a giant trap you're setting for him, so putting something in front of his breakout, even if weak, is necessary) the breakthrough. When sufficient enemy forces are through, shut the hole and work on destroying the pocket. You can use this to great effect in scenarios like Kharkov 42 and, I suspect, here too as we're likely to see many Soviet breakthroughs throughout the course of the game.
