From Becker:
I tried this scenario with an experienced friend I was in stalingrad in 4 turns (using TO south) i encircled his complete southern army on one turn with complete freedom I see this as a fairly easy task
From Becker:
Im going for To south I had bad experiences with the other ones If my enemy places his elite army in centre or north,im in for an easy win, i tried my strat 5 times 3/5 times i was in stalingrad 5 turns
From Bruce:
This will put the Panzer troops against the weakest flank of the Soviets and they should make easy initial progress. The problem is that they have a huge distance to go to reach the pocket (more than twice the distance of the central deployment). If the forces reach the pocket the edges of the path could be fairly defensible - to the East are large lakes (seas?) that block hexes completely, and to the North is a narrow is a narrow passage that the 11Pz Div could be used to obstruct. Since there are no significant Soviet forces in this area, none will be pocketed and they will all be available for the Soviet to use as he pleases. A southern Soviet deployment would stall this offensive, but central and northern deployments probably wouldn't be able to get into action quickly enough to do much before turn 5.
