Hi I am fairly new at COW. I love this game and looking for apponents to play some cold war scenairios. I would prefer to play NATO. I can probably get 2-3 turns in a week. I am fairly new to this game but I have been gaming for a few years now. So I hope to se some of you guys on the battlefeild soon.

Thanks, Dan

I would be interested. What scenario do you want to play?

I would be interested. What scenario do you want to play?I had a look at "Operation Krasiny Grom 1989". It looks very large but very interesting. I am also open to Ideas on cold war games.

OK, I know that scenario very well. I can play 2 or 3 turns per week. Opart 300 CW version 1.04. If you agree IŽll take the WP.

I can do one; it'll be my first PBEM though, so it may take a bit of work on my side figuring out those mechanics. I pushed cardboard for a number of years, and have just started getting back into wargaming with TOAW and a couple other computer strategy games. I've played about a half-dozen TOAW games against the computer.

I'll play any scenario as WP, unless it is one that is universally reviled by the TOAW community (and I can't think one one that is). If you pick NATO-WP 62, I am fresh off of playing it as WP against the computer so I may have an advantage. (It favors the WP as well.) My e-mail is edstepans@hotmail.com. :)

Welcome on board Dan !

I'd be happy to try one with you. Modern warfare certainly isn't my forte, but it's about time I learned more about how to play it.

Open to suggestions.

Turn-round time may be about 2-3 turns a week, possibly 1-2 if it's a massive scenario.

What sucketh about it? Is it reparable? I've always found the possibility of a Soviet-U.S. confrontation after the defeat of Germany to be a fascinating possibility, and I was looking forward to trying this scenario. :)

Let's see what sucks about Patton 45 maybe the following list:
Terrain
Type of Units
SUPPLIES!
Other than that - it's a great WW1 slugfest!

While on the subject of NATO/PACT scenarios, take a look at Bob Cross' The Next War 1979--there are two versions. I've played a few NATO/PACT scenarios, and this one is by far the best--if not one of my favorite TOAW scenarios period. It gives the PACT a chance, and it is just really fun event-wise. Recommended for people who don't play that many modern scenarios and want to give one a shot.

I'd also like to see someone do a big US/USSR scenario right after the end of Germany's surrender in WWII. I think it would be a fun hypothetical.

I'll second that  The Next War is an excellent scenario. I (WarsawPact) played Chuck (NATO) and it was very entertaining. We played the Sudden War version, ended up in a draw. Chuck posted a great AAR on the match.
