As reported earlier I cannot start until 3/20. I would like to play, if someone else needs to start late too. If this late start messes up schedule give my spot to sub.

I think that leaves only Gambit unconfirmed.
SO the matchup that made sense was General Staff vs. Fast Heinz due to their same absence time. Which makes Fast Heinz a Soviet ("Fast Ivan" ?)
That makes for a total of 15 confirmed Soviets and 14 confirmed Germans,
with two confirmed but fence sitting (Francis Nash and Polynike).
We either need to draft Conau and relegate Gambit to sub or Gambit needs to confirm and Conau stays a sub.
-and Francis Nash and Polynike need to either choose sides or be drafted! :surprise:
And we need some matchups! :love: :surprise: :devil: :devious:
BTW I volunteer for a regular game with two TOs per side +the deploynment TO.

Correct ... I marked General Staff as confirmed but out. I'll let Mantis the call of assign the two to play each other.

Mantis ... where are you .... I see you were on-line last night but we haven't heard from you in a few days. :(
Is the tourney supposed to start today?
Because I have no idea who I'm supposed to play, what TO restrictions (if any) there will be and so on and so forth.
Can someone in the know confirm if we're in limbo (or if us players are supposed to know these things and somehow I've missed everything)?

I have an idea to get Mantis out of the loop. :p
One team commander puts up the name of a player. The other team commander designates a player to play him and names another player.
The first team commander sets a player to play that one and names another player, etc. All games are played as the two players agree, either historical, Pelle rules, or all out options. If they can't agree they play Pelle rules.

Okay good, For a second there I thought I was completely in the dark and was the only one ;).
Mantis is on a secret mission, the details of which are chronicled in the OSS. Of course, since everyone thinks it's only fiction, his deeds will go unheralded, and unappreciated... ;)
One more aspect of my idea: Each commander can name a number of the noncommited players that even up the teams.
The way things are going, I will be in Venezia and back before the tourney begins :D. On a more serious note, I hope everything is fine with Mantis. Anyone had any news of him?

I am a little concerned. He hasn't been on the boards since March 4th. I posted a message in the staff forum and sent an email to Siberian HEAT to see if he has any information.
EDIT: S. HEAT has just posted that Mantis is having computer problems but will hopefully be back on-line today or tomorrow!
We'll hold here for a day or two to see what develops.
I do think we can go ahead and place Fast Heinz on the Soviet side to play against General Staff since they will both have a delayed start.
Any objections to me doing that .... I don't want to over-step since I am the Soviet CO.

Okay ... I'll make that change subject to Mantis over-ruling it!
