I'm confused. My TOAW-COW Help file talks about options to view the entire map in 3d, small or large, as well as a whole bunch of others (unit 3d bases, text contrast, movement paths, silver highlighting of formation units) from an "options menu" which I can't seem to find. Some of the other options that are supposed to be available in this "options menu" are available in my main playing menu (next to the main map and above the mini-map). Is the Help file out of date? Can I somehow access this "options menu"?

Yeah, I probably won't use it myself, since I grew up pushing cardboard and I'm used to the 2d view. But it might help me get my son interested; he's into computer gaming big-time, but almost everything he plays is real-time strategy at this point. IMHO, it's time for him to learn how to play a "real man's game."

OK, found it! Thanks! Screamer, you're right, it is useless. But, yes, Mike, the tanks look WAY cool in 3d mode. Maybe I can talk my kid into a quick game of Arracourt this way: playing the Germans, he'll definitely be cruising in some sweet armor.

Now another question: in 3d mode, I notice semicircles of various sizes comprised of little white balls. What are these? (Oh, God, here comes three pages of snappy comebacks . . . )

They tell you how many units are stacked in the hex. 5 balls = 5 units.

D'oh! Way too obvious for my steel-trap mind; I was wondering if they showed the locations of the best golf courses in Western Europe . . .
