View Full Version : Missile attack - where did it go?

Something I don’t understand. I’m playing scen 2 and my AH-64 launched at least one Hellfire missile at the beginning of the combat pulse. I see the launch reported, but there is no indication of what happened to it.
How do I know if it was a hit or miss like other attacks?

You won’t know until it hits. The range is 4600 meters, the missile travels at 325 meters per second - so it takes about 15 seconds to reach the target. So, it should impact sometime in the next phase (Turn 2, pulse 1). Assuming nothing changes and there are no malfunctions and that it is not intercepted in mid-air, anyway.
BTW - the program tracks the status of every in-flight missile second by second (including who can see it), but that information gets overwhelming and so is not available to the player. We used to show very small “m” symbols on the map - but it looks like one of the latest database changes eliminated that (I’ll have to check into it).

Have to agree! Showing inflight missiles on the map, while not necessary, would be a very cool piece of chrome :surprise:
I for one hope Scott can add this back in.

If so with the ability to toggle it off for those of us who don`t yet own a Cray mainframe... :cheeky:
