I have recently installed a service pack from Microsoft for Outlook Express 6 as a critical download from their site. I run Win 98. I now find all my incoming attachments are automatically blocked so i cannot access them. Apologies to those waiting a gaming reply. The message i get in the attachment line is: "OE removed access to the following unsafe attachements in your mail: (and then whatever the file name is)". I have looked through the parts of the system i know to switch this off but have found nothing. Can anybody else advise before i pull my hair out.

Hey Scorched,

The newer versions and updates of Outlook block potentially "unsafe" attachments by the file extension. The quick fix is to have your opponents change the file extension on their attachments to something "safe" like .abc. The long fix is to add a registry entry that will unblock selected file extensions.

Hi, due to a few problems with EFII i have had to re-install my CD again and download patch ver 1.02 (from Talonsoft). I did have Ver 1.03, but cannot remember where i got the patch from - can anyone help? Also, the various patches available on the Warfare HQ site, tree, buildings etc, will they work with my version (currently 1.02, bought in the UK). Thanx.

Just a quick note regarding the attachment problems with Outlook Express. To retrieve the attachment: Highlight the message with the attachment, then hit forward. The attachment is now available to retrieve.
Ya gotta love Microsoft.
