Just got the game today and was wondering except for the mouse over data for enemy units if anything else is shown in game about the target or if you have to open the database management system to find data out about the target?
Kind of a long sentance but oh well. Seems to me it would be nice to know available data about a target that would normally be available to commanders. They must have the capabilities to know what ammunition a tank has and how far away it can hit a target. Opening the database system is no big deal, but of instead of searching for it there it would be nice to right click on the unit and be able to choose "unit data" and have information filled in as intelligence grows.

There isn't a "SitRep" screen per se is there?

I played the scenerio to the end. I found that I had two enemies on the same elevation as me but we were both in smoke. I had everything set to the easy including FOW to None. I moved my units so that they ran the enemy units over and all I could get was "Current" instead of "sighted" so that I could shoot at them. The LOS said they were blocked as I approached them, but I do not understand why I could not sight them even when we occupied the same "hex".

Having a blast but was wondering something else, I loaded up scenerio 5 and didn't give any move orders and hit the turn button. Some jets I have were hit and some enemy posistions were given to me as 45 seconds ago. When I go to my staff officer for operations and click on having the AI issue orders I always get the message that the officer has determined that everyone is fine just where they are. Is this normal to always get this? I thought we were supposed to rely on our staff officers?
If you read the previous post over the last couple of weeks I think your queries have been discussed and to a certain extent answered by other forum members and HPS support staff.
Also have a good read through the manual, it’s difficult to grasp the essentials at first which is not helped by the games buggy performance.
The good news there is a patch out any day now which will hopefully clear up many of the games problems.

You can't actually see the SITREPs that the computer generates for its fog-of-war calculations. I'm hopeful that something might be added to the S2 section at some point, but I've heard nothing official on that subject to date.

I had something similar to this with an Al Qadea unit. Even when I moved right on top of it I couldn't seem to get any result. I believe I remember Scott saying something about there being a bug with the part of the close combat routines, and this problem has now been fixed. Sometimes I'm not exactly sure what's going on with fog-of-war.
