Just when I am getting up the gumption to buy Tigers on the Prowl or Panthers in the Shadows they get pulled from HPS site. What the Hell! The one HPS SIM game I am interested in and now it's gone? IF on the one hand they are repackaging it in a reasonabally priced collection I am ecstatic, if it is gone for good only to be rereleased as POA-2 I will only be happy if it works and if it will have all the expansions available that the old one did.

  :p   :D

How am I supposed to feel about this?
HPS?
Anyone...

I'm not surprised by this. Those games were ancient and HPS probably couldn't justify reprinting the CDs when they ran out.

I know they are ancient. And frankly 50 bucks was a bit steep but hearkens back to how much is too much for a game?? based on quality Top and PS had one of the largest databases for WWII equip. I was going to give it a chance. Scott mentioned his intention to bring them back with his new engine and who knows maybe they will be even better. I can hope.

But instead of making them completely unavailable, HPS should cut the price and make available for Download purchase only...like Matrix has done for MegaCampaigns!!!

I would be up for that! It would only cost HPS and server space. I don't see how they can lose on that. I know I should get with the times and I do like "new" games too. I just hate to see classics go for good...before I have had the chance to play them. I was not lucky enough to discover wargaming in the 70's...I am experiencing all both old and new with for the first time. (relatively speaking.) Ebay may be the way now I guess.

sigh...

Why don`t you send Greg Smith at HPS an EMail and see if there is a way you can buy a downloadable version of TOP/PITs.

Greg is a good guy and if it`s possible he might be able to help you. Just athought ;) Be advised you will need the MS XP DOS service pack to run it in XP.

Thanks for the tip. I actually have a good line on panthers at the moment and most of the expansions for it at the moment. I would like to get Dragons in the Mist though once I do get Panthers.

Thanks again. :D
