View Full Version : Information on air support

When dealing with air support I mostly see something like “A US aircraft flight” displayed. The type of aircraft doesn’t appear when you hover the mouse over the icon. It takes some work to actually figure out what type of aircraft is being represented. I believe the pop-up box that displays the pulses in real time also simply refers to them as “aircraft.”
Is there a way this can me made alittle more user-friendly?
The problem with adding weapon systems names to the “pop up” boxes is that they get huge and end up taking over the entire map. Especially since we have no idea how long the unit names might be since users can edit them. However, maybe we could add an option of some type... to show one or the other, or both.
I’ll add it to the “wish list”. :D

Completely agree with Don.
Having a quick / reference to see which aircraft are which is definitely a needed option.

dunno - the program handles specialised air missions itself - not really sure we need to know - also adds to the "unknown" factor that makes the game exciting :D
Ivan,
I don't agree (but I see what you are trying to say). However, I think being a TFC.....I need to know if I ordered A-10's in....that A-10's are what are showing up.....not F-14's......And even if a different plane is sent in (for time reasons) this information would eventually get back to the TFC.....So I think an option showing which are which is needed.
Also, I think a more detailed overview of how the Air Campagin is waged is needed.
Side point, Has anyone done Paradrops? How have they worked?
Also, Can you call aircraft in (regardless of air bases being on the map)...Like in TOAW....you would need an airbase for paradrops and airstrikes.
Would like to know how this works more with POA-2

There are cargo aircraft like the C-130 in POA2, but I don't know if they can land or the map or not. They may just be there for para operations. Then again, I think there is a C5 as well, so I'm not sure.

Unless you have a different data base than I do, there are no cargo aircrafts. The C-130's are combat only and cannot take cargo. There is no C-5's. I have pointed this out to Scott, and he said that they will be added.

They're back in with the patch.
