West Front under Win XP

This may not be the place to ask this question but l really need help. I broke out my old WF and EF games and installed them on a new PC with Win XP. East Front runs fine but I cannot get WF to run. I tried changing the compadability settings to Win 95 and Win 98 but nothing works. Also, I have the 1.06 patch but have not installed it. I nned to delete the WF.ICD file before patching but that file doesnt exist? Maybe because I cant get the game to run?
Any help would be appreciated.

Forget about the .ICD file. I had the same situation a couple of weeks ago & just installed the patch without removing anything (how can you remove something that doesn't exist?!) & things work fine.

Strange thing, I had previously installed the game on my desktop, deleted the WF.ICD, installed the patch and it still didnt work, I tried it on my laptop and viola, she runs fine. Anyway, I have one more question, the 1.06 patch doesnt include any updates to the Battalion or brigade OOB files and when I go into the WF OB editor I get and error message that says subunits are missing for the German Cavalry regiment and none of the countries OB for Divisions or higher even show up?
