View Full Version : changing images within POA-2?
Once we get an updated patch (official patch) and I've gone through the clean install process....are there any problems with changing many of the images within POA-2?
Say from added / deleting pictures.....to also making most pictures Jpeg's instead of bitmaps (for space and variety reasons).
I am talking about images within the "Icons", "Leaders", "Nation / forces", and "weapons" folders.

The link to the image in question is in the database for the weapons. With the original game you can edit the weapons in the database and change the name of the associated file. You won't be able to do this once the patch is installed (correct me if I'm wrong Scott). What you can do is replace the image with an image of the same size, type, and name. Some of the weapons images included with the game were not that great. I have been working with HPS and I am providing them with much better quality replacement images.
As far as the other images go, I do not believe you will be able to replace a bmp with jpg and still get the game to accept it since the game isn't looking for "tank.jpg" it's looking for "tank.bmp." I don't see how this can be done unless HPS does it and they want to stick with .bmp files.
You should be able to replace the leaders images with images of the same size, type and name. I may work on this when I have all the weapons done.
