Newbie Question

What scenarios can I dowload if I have the Wargame of the Year issue of TOAW?

Next question once i get a a downloadable file where do I extract the zip to?

the last version of EA made for woty is a 1.5 (there were several minor updates of 1.5 released without any version change) at this point, I'm not sure what problems existed with it, but don't recall anything major.

I have an even WORSE newbee question ... WHERE can I download these scenarios? I know it is somewhere so obvious noone understands I haven't found it ... but all I've found were the Stauffenberg scenarios ...

So please have mercy on me in my ignorance and tell me

With regard to Roosters second question, you may get a graphics file along with the rest of the download (usually just an "sce" file, but sometimes a "oob" and/or a "map" file). All the files, except for the graphics file, should be put in your TOAW scenario folder. The graphics file (if one is included) goes to the TOAW graphics folder.

I can't address the first question directly. However, the Wargamer site says Wargame of the Year scenarios should be compatible with COW. I don't know if that is a two way street.

It's not. ACOW can read toaw1,2,wgoty scenarios if they were saved with the most recent patch of the creating executable (I think wgoty can read toaw1 scenarios but am not certain), but older versions cannot read scenarios written for newer ones.

WGOTY Can only run WGOTY scenarios AND TOAW I scenarios that were saved with the latest patch of TOAW I. I can sympathize. The first game I had was WGOTY and I got frustrated by downloading all these great TOAW I scenarios and only being able to use about 1 in 10. Good Luck.
