Pal Woje - The creator of the COCAT Campaign Tool has announced he will begin working on a new Generic Version of his most excellent program. This tool has been a lifesaver for me in running my Combat Campaigns. It has been used by other groups in running similair multiplayer campaigns using as well. In fact, it was originally designed specifically for the Combat Mission Meta Campaigns.
In a effort to support Pal in his efforts to build this next version I ask any and all of you who are familiar with COCAT to post your suggestions, ideas, problems, etc here. For those of you who might not be familair with this tool, you can find out more by going here.

Based on feedback and personal experience I will COCAT 2.13 (the older version) will be the choice for any future Combat Campaigns. This is because it allows the changing and use of custom Operational Maps, has 3 zoom levels (plus mini map) and has a neat text orders feature. I am currently editing all unit icons and equipment lists.

Even from the Homepage, it is not absolutely clear what it is. Can you use WinSPMBT maps in it?

Even from the Homepage, it is not absolutely clear what it is. Can you use WinSPMBT maps in it? :nuts:Not really. It's use is for Operational/Strategic level maneuvering and maps. I will put together some screenshots of the MOD I am working on so some of you can get a better idea of what it is/does. It is currently being used in the RED SNOW Combat Campaign (SPWAW) and has been used in others, mainly the Crimean Combat Campaign (SPWAW).

Here are some screenshots from the COCAT Version I plan to use (COCAT 2.13). Its an older version but is a lot easier to customize. The map in these screenshots is the default one (overview or mini map in upper left corner). It can be replaced by a custom map as long as it is the same dimensions (there are actually 4 maps = 1 overview map and 3 zoom levels).

unit_orders.jpg - (screenshot for assigning movement orders).
unit_setup.jpg - (setting up an individual unit's OOB).
units_on_map.jpg - (units as they are seen on the map screen map).

Thats great that Pal is going to start on his Generic version :) My question is how is it going to be Generic? Will I be able to use it no matter what time period of wars? Ie WW1, WW2, Modern?
The link you post is for COCATII not COCAT 2, correct? and where can I find Patch 2.13 for COCAT2?

The link you post is for COCATII not COCAT 2, correct? and where can I find Patch 2.13 for COCAT2?It is for COCAT 2.10 and the patch takes it to 2.13. This is the OLD and more easily customized version that should not be confused with the newer COCAT II. COCAT II has had many features removed from the earlier 2.10/2.13 version.

No problem with me, I have almost endless time - I hope. :) If we finish it by 2084, I am happy.

Are you kidding ? :DNope!! For some reason the other day I said to myself "I wonder if Pal's still around and how is he doing these days" so I sent him an email. He responded right back so of course I had to press the COCAT issue.
He had a little bit of time but seems he lost the code. He did find an older version and has been able to edit a few things for me. I just got the latest like 5 minutes ago from him via email. If he ever shows up here I'll make sure he gets his own "Pal Woje Appreciation thread". :smoke:

There are still a couple things I asked him to edit so it may be a day or so depending on his free time.
