Can we get something incorporated into the “Load a Scenario” screen that has a basic rating for scenario complexity? Perhaps this could be built into the editor. As a last step of the scenario creation process the computer could count the total number of forces involved and give the scenario a complexity rating of 1-10. This shouldn’t be difficult to incorporate (I hope). The Campaign Series games all had this and it can be a pretty big help when selecting scenarios. It could be especially handy for players who have PCs that are less than state-of-the-art. That way they can stick with the “5” complexity scenarios and stay away from the big 10 complexity monsters.
I would also like to see the “Load a Scenario” window revised. Given time, I hope, there will eventually be a large number of POA2 scenarios available (most from users). It would be nice if the scenarios could be sorted by complexity, date, and title. This is pretty standard in many wargames. It can be a pain to have to scroll down a list of 150 scenarios looking for the one you want.
Another small thing that bothers me here is that the game doesn’t show the current scenario at the top of the screen. It just says “scenario 3” or something to that effect. I have the same complaint about the Load a Scenario window. It appears that the window shows the name of the file, not the scenario title. To see the title of the battle you have to actually click on each scenario and read the description. A minor complaint perhaps, but it still could be improved a little.
Also, while looking at the Load a Scenario screen there is the option to click on the image to view a full sized version, however, when I click on it all I get is an error saying it can’t find it. (Example: D:\Point.bmp not found). It seems to be looking for it in the wrong directory for some reason. I have POA2 installed on my D drive. This may be a bug.
