For some reason, when playing WF My graphics are only showing the "basic" unit pictures - i.e. the units without any camouflage etc. My gameplay is unaffected, but it looks bloody silly having Panthers in desert sand colours rolling through the Ardennes :o(

I know that the basic unit pictures are in the main folder in .bmp files with the format Upxxxxx, and the different camouflages are in the Special folder with the format E-Upxxxxx, L-Upxxxxx, and S-Upxxxxx, so for some reason WF is not displaying the correct .bmp files when I play a scenario. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing WF, I have even tried taking off WFBP, and re-installing WF ver 1.00, but the problem remains.

Does anyone have any suggestions to fix this problem, or know where the routine telling WF to look in the Special folder is?

I hear what you are saying and unfortunately I don't have enough computer savy to help. But in the analysis of the problem I would like to state

"Where the heck are all the original designers of EFII, WF, RS and Dg????"

Talonsoft is all but finished in my eyes much like Avalon Hill was finished and ASL with it Talonsoft really missed the point, there is a great following of the Campaign Series and TS could have made it even better but all I see lately is single or multi-person kill games in some ficticious land of Nor!

I just wonder if when they designed the Campaign Series years ago they all had to sign a gag order for like 30 years under penalty of death and dismemberment not to disclose the inner working of the game.

Its a great system and they could do so much to improve it if they would only open they're eyes to the market and hear what is being said, offer help or a license agreement to experimental programmers.

Good Luck with your quest Wolf!!

Hmmm, you haven't changed any of the units in the platoon.obx or anything, or altered anything at all in the special folder? And you have applied all the pertinent patches too? I've not ever experienced this problem, as long as you have all the folders in the directory, where the program was installed to, it should work correctly! Also, is this a homemade scenario, or stock?

OOPS! Looking very embarrased here - it would appear that there is an option in the "options" menu to "use special Icons" - I must have deselected this whilst playing under the influence. Sorry for any trouble :o)

No worries, wish all problems were that simple, no?!:)
