View Full Version : NFL Street 2
Got this game the other day and I've got to say it's great. I've always been a fan of the 'Streets' series on the PS2. I'm glad to say they have converted well. The EA Sports Big sign looks class on the screen as it boots up. You have the following game modes. Quick Game, Own the City, Street Events, NFL Challenge, NFL Gauntlet and Pickup Game. There is also a Tutorial Mode.
Own the City allows you to build your own character and leave your mark across the city. NFL Challenge allows you to build your own team to challenge the NFL Stars and NFL gauntlet gives you the option of taking on all NFL teams with the reward of unlocking some special items.
The graphics are ace and are crisp. At times during the game there's a lot happening on the screen and there is no blur or slowdown. The sound is excellent, i'm not a great lover of Rap or R'n'B but the music is spot on.
During loading times(which tbh) are quite lengthy, you get a snazzy art style pic to look at. These little pics are really funky and well used.
The game play is excellent and with the variety of mode choices there are hours and hours of gameplay. It's fun, i would like to have seen more trick moves in the game tho. The tackles really make you wince, the noise of crushing as a 400lb guy runs towards you and smashes you to the floor is cool.
All in all this is a great game with loads to do. A nice showcase for what the PSP is able to do.

thanks for that, nice review
I just have on question abut the game. In the first one say if you're 1st and 10 and you get 12 yards. The next time are you 1st and 8? It was like this in the first NFL street and I hated that idea. But I do LOVE the street series, especially the NBA street series.
why dont EA just make the street series in the other major sports games?
do they need to have a separate game for this? sega did it with the basketball, why dont they? wouldnt it be more fun if you get tired of the simulation, you could kick back and have some arcade type fun.
OH,BUT WAIT A MINUTE, this is ea.
you just wait and see what they do with the next NON MADDEN football,it will be totally different and they will steal all the other company football ideas.
ALL SPORTS GAMES NBA<MLB<NHL<NFL should all have a minimum price.usually same game with updated rosters. and trade in value NONE.
every where you go NON sport titles i wonder why that is????????
PS the EA games for PSP are NOT selling well. plenty in stock here.
ridge racer, untold legends, are harder to get.
why dont EA just make the street series in the other major sports games?
what do you mean by that? theres fifa street, nba street

$50 is a joke for the sports game thats my only thing i have against it. I didn't like nfl street all that much. kind of a run off of blitz but gayer.
Yea it only works for B-ball I think and Fifa Street just blows. Basically MLB street was MLB Slugfest without stupid ass trick moves. $50 for a crappy version of a $30 game is a bit dumb.

NFL 2K 5 was far better than Madden 2005. But before that I thought Madden was the top dog.
It's like you didn't even read the first sentence. Also NFL2K 5 was only 20 bucks I might add.
madden is still pretty good
i've only ever played madden once...and that was like 4 years ago so i cant really judge it...BUT NFL STREET & NFL STREET 2 ARE GREAT GAMES ON THE XBOX!!! i wanted to buy it for my psp but i figured it would just be the same as the console versions but with a few new features exclusive to the psp...
NFL street 2 unleashed is a sick game
but madden is a differnt type of game tho more serious
