Good day Gents,

I was curious to see if anyone has played 'World War One' by EB, located here: http://www.the-strategist.net/RD/scenarii/display_scenario.php?Id=29. It is part of his Beer and Pretzels Series (apparently) and was created with the WotY edition of TOAW. I, unfortunately, do not own the WotY edition and was wondering if anyone would be so kind as to convert it to TOAW III or CoW (as I own this and could then convert it the rest of the way), so that I could take a look at it.

Thanks in advance,
Wyatt

Dang nabbit...my PM box is full, and so I can't send any PMs, I really must become a member. :D
Anyways, here's what it would have looked like.

Silvain,
Have you taken a look under the hood of this one? I'd imagine it's suffering from all the usual conversion bugs. :D I'm curious to see if it's beer and pretzels, but with attention to detail as well. It seems, as per the blurb on Rugged Defence, that it could be very interesting.

My addy is veersw (insert the 'at' symbol here) gmail (and a 'dot') com
Really annoying that those damn eail scamming bots make us have to enter our addresses in such a cryptic manner...:clown:

Thanks a lot,
Wyatt

Oh, also, do you have the CoW version? So that I can compare the two and therefore fix any of those conversion bugs.

that's the COW version. I sent you the TOAWIII conversion first... was not necessary hehehe... I didn't see your second post LOL....

It's quite rudimentary what OOB is concerned. I haven't looked into it deeper yet.

While this is true, I'm
a) a collector, I hate deleting things...:) My HD is full of crap and I need a new one of those, two. :D
b) Lazy, I could transfer all those PMs to a text format on my HD, but..lazy...:D This is the only time I've had to use the PM system in months.

Yes, having taken a quick look it is quiet rudimentary. I think I'll tweak it up a bunch and give it some flavour. :D

The thing is to try to strike a comprimise: I need a scenario with a medium complexity for my gf to play and a scenario that is rich and interesting for me. This one meets and exceeds the moderate-simple complexity required, but it needs some spice!

Thanks for all the help, Silvian.

Just FYI for anyone interested, there seems to be no conversion errors...at least not with any of the withdrawals, as, if memory serves, this was one of the frequently messed up event types.

Getting your gf into TOAW? Cool:clap:

But... beware of... ;)

She's been playing it for a while now, I keep trying to get her into the
tournaments.

Beware of what? Her getting mad at me when I'm winning? It happens. Whenever I pull of a partcularly devious scheme she gets mad and won't play with me for a week.

Only a week?:D

Only a week?:D
It'd be longer, I'm sure, but the entirety of the week is spent sucking up and being a nice guy so that I can get her back to it as soon as possible.

Women and TOAW... I would like to find such a girl myself :)
As far as I have gone is that I have intoxicated few girls with a Heroes of Might & Magic 3, 4, 5...

Well, I first saw how mother of my friend played Homm 2 and I then thought "aha, there is a game that women can play beside Solitaire" lol

Now, if we could merge Homm & Strip Poker game into one package :devious:

Funny, Heroes of Might and Magic was how I first broke Frances into turn based strategy!!

My wife and I have been playing HOMM 2, 3, 4, and now 5. With 2 & 3, we played almost daily! We load 'er up when it's time to do loads of housework, and then we take turns working while the other is at the PC. Great way to get things done, and have a good time at the same time!

How very true. France and I do the same! She does homework while I play and I read or do business while she plays. It really is the best way to get things done. You get breaks and steady, unmolested time. :D
