View Full Version : WF bug... anyone know a fix?
I know it doesn't go in here, but I couldn't find a better forum for it (AAR forum and Map editing one aren't good for it either)...
So my problem is:
For a while I haven't been able to play any Linked or Dynamic campaign games in WF (Elite Edition). When I try to start one, all it does is go all "weird" the buttons get all messed up, and placed randomly all over the place, when I try to click on one, it says "Error Reading Campaign Data"... I've already reinstalled as well, didn't help.
Help would be greatly appreciated :). Thx in advance

hmm.. I had the same problem before, but I do not remember how I solved it ---- probably I just reinstalled everything. But it persists on your machine that is strange.
oh i c... didy ou put in the correct CD? Or did you use any virtual cd drives? I vaguely remember that could cause this problem.
Yes I put in the real, authentic CD... no virtual cd drives or anything like that.
What version of WF are you running? - if it is not 1.05 you need to update, I seen to remember there were problems playing campaign games with earlier versions.
Where can I find an update?
EDIT: Nevermind I found it, but how do I tell what version I have?
Run the game and use the pull down menu "About" - it will tell you what version you are running.

If you're running the game in XP, ensure the game is saving the campaign file in the West Front directory. The default location for saving is not and this is generally the culprit.
Hope that helps

Where would the campaign file go by default? Wherre can I find it and move it into the West front directory?
Thx in advance :)

I believe it goes to the My Documents folder by default, in order to fix the campaign you'll have to re-save the campaign file in the proper folder:
(ie - default install path - C://Program Files/Talonsoft/West Front/ )
Hope that helps
