ok it's FiTE turn 11 and I bring Italian fighter up toward Leningrad. He have only 28 movement points out of 209. In the beginning it had untried status, 60% proficiency. then he got veteran somehow and 61%, and then one soviet bomber hit one of my units via interdiction and suddenly it have 71%. this is all before any combat. as he have only 28 mov. points I guess that this is happening before he can react ie. - he is in the future :hush:

strange I think.

On arrival, did you set the Italian fighter unit on AS? If so, it'd have taken part in the effort to intercept the enemy bombers on interdiction mission at no cost for its movement allowance (from memory, will have to check this). It would also explain its transition from untried to veteran status.

If it wasn't on AS, all bets are off... :smoke:

Yes, I set it on AS... I knew that he would get veteran status even before combat hehe. Hmmm, nice but strange and maybe broken. I think that arty maybe act in this way too but I am not sure (by supporting attacks even if they don't have coresponding movement points left, and put on tactical support) - but that would maybe increase chances of ending of turn.

What's peculiar is that it has the Combat Support "S" on the unit icon.

I think I can trump this though- in Colin's Seelowe, the Germans use 'land carriers' instead of conventional airfields for a number of reasons. I was counterattacking in Kent and evaporated one of these airfields, leaving only a Me-109 unit left in the hex. On the next round I attacked again- and was repulsed with heavy losses by a few score fighter pilots....

Thankfully, this sort of thing doesn't happen often.
