Hey guys,
I´ve been playing CoW for quite a while already (PBEM and PO). I´m thinking about giving the big next step into Toaw 3 (PBEM) but I don´t want to get any nasty surprise in the middle of a game. Could any game tell me what are the real changes that one notices when playing?
Is the defence somewhat streghen? Is the airpower decresed along with the amor? Is AA too powerful? What about turn phases? Do you get more phases since there´s not turn burning? I´m a recalling from what I´ve read in forums and in the rules. Again, what are the real changes that you notice when playing? Not jargon, please :D
Thanks a lot
Read the attachment - it's from the game, i thought this could show you the best..
Hmm..why can i attach a .doc file, but no .rtf word file?? Then the .pdf file must do it - it's identical..hope you have some kind of acrobat reader..

Thanks Telumar. I do have acrobat reader, but my question was a little more specific. How do all those changes mentioned in the text affect to the game? How do they affect to your or anyone gaming experience? Has anyone noticed that the armor loses some punch? What about the airpower? I´ve read that turn burn has be eliminated, does it really increases the number of turn phases you get? If there´s not turn burn, what is the overall force proficency (found in the situation briefing) used for? Under CoW a better army (higher proficency) had less chance of suffering a turn burn, but I guess it doesn´t happen in Toaw 3, right?
I´ve been tackling with toaw3 and I haven´t noticed a big change in the way the game works, despite that the anti-armor, anti-personal and defence values of defending units has been greatly increased (along some other changes). May be I need to "dive" deeper in the game, and perhaps I also need to listen to some ideas from you guys. Suggestion of any kind are more than welcome!
Thanks again
Buenas.
The changes to the game are not that noticeable to the player unless you really get under the engine. Small things here and there, and less time to calculate supply an reinforcements.
The turn burn has not been eliminated, but the designer has the option to allow for a maximum turn burn each time you execute the battles.
Designers have also been given 500 more events.
But now is a supported game and more improvements can come along the way.
And the new scenarios will probably be designed for this version of the game.
AA fire works - finally one can use those units as intended, guard important bridges, artillery and the like..

I´ve been playing CoW for quite a while already (PBEM and PO).
If you still intend to play against the PO, you will find the TOAW III PO to be a much better opponent than the ACOW PO.

Danke, gracias and thanks for your help.
If I´m getting it right I don´t need to change the way I play in Cow when playing PBEM in Toaw3, right? Just I can use AA units to their full potential.
When playing PO Elmer is stronger (I´ve noticed that already).
One final word. This thread wasn´t intended to be any kind of criticism to Matrix. I actually strongly support Matrix for the back up they´re giving to Toaw and for all the improvements that are coming along.
See you all in the battlefield.
