Microsoft has scheduled an entire day packed with several events during Sunday, November 12th, also known as The Emergence Day. Gears of War seems to be a quite interesting title, and one of the most anticipated titles for the Xbox 360 this year.

Will you be there? The game will be out by November 7th, and will give us plenty of time to prepare for the Emergence Day. During that day, starting at 12:01am in Sunday, November 12th... several online tournaments and gaming events will begin to take place. Also, players will be able to download exclusive "free" content like gamer pictures and themes from the XBOX-Live Marketplace only during that day. There will be contests, sweepstakes and "Game with Fame" sessions with Cliff Bleszinski (CliffyB) and other members of the Epic Games team.

Is not something to miss if you have the time, the game and the bravery to show up to do some WAR! I'll be seen you there, and please do not hesitate to contact me during that day! my gamertag is "UnknownPrince" and believe it or not, I will be on for at least 80% of the day. No matter when you're on! I'll be on... guaranteed.

Keep on gaming Xtreme Gamers!

I wonder if this will generate the kind of sales for Xbox 360 that Halo did for Xbox.

I will say this, the commercial is great. The jarring discontinuity between the violence you are seeing onscreen and the soft, poignant music overdub is striking.

Picked up my copy over the weekend when I was at the beach, but didn't get a chance to play it 'til I got back yesterday. It's very good so far, and there are no frame rate issues like I was worried about...it's buttery smooth at 1080i.

The controls are fairly intuitive, so after about 5 minutes, it's pretty seamless.

My one complaint right now is that it takes the usual half a mag of ammo to kill anything. I'm pretty early in the game, though...hopefully that will change. The grenades you get early on are cool...sort of bolo like, and the mechanism for throwing grenades is pretty trick...much like the way Sam Fisher throws bottles and stuff in the Splinter Cell series. You get a blue arc that you can adjust, then you pull the trigger and toss the grenade.

All in all, I think this game will move a lot of 360s over the holidays. And, at least around here, Microcenter has the HD bundle 360 for $100 off...$299.

If anyone is sitting on the fence about a 360, this could be the time to pull the trigger.
