Just wondering if Trenches can be degraded by HE (direct or in-direct)?, by this i mean does the exposure of the troops lessen with exposure to large amounts of HE?

I've never noticed it happen myself but that does'nt mean it has no effect at all, besides i thought it would be a good discussion point

Did you mean does the exposure of the troops increase as their trenches are exposed to HE?

I don't think so. IIRC, every time I bring heavy arty to bear on infantry, their exposure does not change for my engaged infantry, despite the arty.

But the HE will cause them to leave the trenches which causes a massive exposure increase.

Thats what i meant. I would have thought that those trenches are gonna collapse pretty quickly once some 105+ starts falling. It would be quite a nice touch if trenches they could disintergrate under prolonged Arty barrage.
Then again WW1 proved that people could survive horrendous barrages and still fight.

You should take the time and micro manage a program to do just as you with. :smoke:

It's quite satisfying to target trenches with HE (even small mortars) and see all the "rats" running out in a panic!:devious:

Its silly that they do that in the game. IRL they'd stay in the trench because its safer. If they felt that they had to move, they'd of moved to another section of trench before moving out in the open to be slaughtered by arty or inf. fire.

I know PZSHCK,

That is yet another of the little things that CM put in the program just to annoy me. Anyone that would crawl out of a trench or foxhole under arty fire is criminally stupid. If someone thought their condition so hopeless that rout was the only option, they'd be frickin running, not squirming along at a snails pace while steel rain was falling.
