View Full Version : 2 littles questions about two of my tanks
I am in my first PBEM scenario, where I play Hungarians against the Russian in 44. I would already have two little technical questions.
One of my Tigers has a breakdown gun (by a Russian shot). Can it repair until the end of the game ?
And one of my Stugs has apparently lost his leader. Is there not “Recall” rule in CMBB ?

hey, another old friend showing up here :) haha .. welcome man (though I may not even be earlier than ya :D )
The gun will NOT be fixed... it is not a tiger any more, just a moving MG bunker now.
The leader is lost somewhat the effeciency will drop, but it is ok.
ER-
When I've had a "Gun Damaged" tank I've never been given a "targeting" option with it.
Are you saying that the tank will fire it's MG's at targets of "opportunity?"

geee... :D
So soon ? Shall I write an FAQ for CMBB section as well ? :)
Yes, its MG will fire, given it is not damaged and has ammo. Please note that tank's MG uses ammo a bit faster than usual MG units.

Yes the tanks MGs can still fire though i have found it to be very random, sometimes they will fire sometimes not.
In at least some cases only your bow machine gun will still function. You have to be unbuttoned to use it.

Hey if you can write one up why not?
I'm sure many new players have questions about various "things" concerning CM.
We don't have a FAQ for CM; we could put it on the CM Homepage.
Let me know if you are willing to do this.
If you want make a post asking for some "basic" questions from the veteran membership that would help out rookies.

LoL ... I do not think I qualify for writing this yet :D ... only 2 weeks or so experience ... :) Maybe we can urge people like Scipio to do this favor for us :)

I already asked one important thing down there ... how to calculate loss vps? :)

VPs are awarded for causualties caused to the enemy.
Captured units count double that of casualties.
As for your question in the other thread, there is no list that i'm aware of that lists VP for each unit.
But the value is based on the purchase cost.
So if you have 4 tanks and they are knocked out the cost will be the purchase price plus any crews that bail out and are lost later will cause an additional cost.
If crews bail out and you use them as infantry and lose them there is an additional cost per man which i think is higher than infantry to discourage using them like this.

thx... but I think I would appreciate a more precise formula if there is any ... Maybe some1 would post such a question in battlefront... Anyway, hopefully some1 may get to read that question and happen to know the answer.. :p

don't think there is a precise formula, well not one that's know outside of the battlefront office!
like most of the mechanics of the game.
