Tsushima Battle Engaged

Just played this battle and was unable to get any of the divisions to increase speed beyond 8 knots.
what was I doing wrong ? it was such a pain, as I wanted to use my armoured cruisers at the rear of the Russian colum for a fast counter attack, but had to make do with sinking the transports instead.

I' m not so sure but i read somewere that that was the problem with the second division since they has been overhauled in the baltic and since that time vegetation has grown under the keel.
This should be one of the factor that influenced the outcome of the battle (it can be one of the most determinating since Togo has been able to cross the T two times).
Yes. There are quite a few effects, but the most obvious is a reduction in a ship's max speed if it spends too much time at sea.
