View Full Version : Stuff to prepare for AATF
Hi people,
I have been browsing through the screenshots and features of AATF and I must say, I can't wait to try the beta demo.
Since I haven't played any of the previous games I wondered how to best prepare for AATF... are there manuals to download somewhere either for the new game (I guess that's something you will do once the game is almost finished) or for the older games?? If yes, will it help me if I learn playing the older demos to better get into AATF???
Keep up the great work, it looks great!
Cheers

First, definitely play the older demos - they will give you a good foundation in the scope and scale of AATF, although in an "armored" world. THe Falklands War will give you more of an insight into the "ground-pounder" point of view and the close-in fight.
The one caveat is that you shouldn't get wedded to the interface! It's changing in AATF.
Unfortunately, there is no single official source that can help you prepare for AATF. You should read-up on Air Assault Operations in FM 90-4 and other basic doctrine from the US - Try globalsecurity.org for FMs.
Hope this is enough to get you started, or at least give you a monster headache!

Thanks for the help Curt!! I found the FM at globalsecurity.org, however, do you know of a site where I can get a more printer friendly version (ie PDF file)???
I don't really enjoy reading from a screen so much and I would prefer to print it. (At globalsecurity.org it's divided into chapters and I would have to copy/paste every chapter by hand...)
That aside, in my initial post I was reffering more to the game's manual to get aquainted with the interface... is a manual for either ATF or one of the other games available for download somewhere so I can refer to it for the demos???

Sorry, but the manuals are only available with the game.
The Air Assault FM and the Operational Symbols FM will also be included on the disk with the game!!

Lieber Arno-
Entschulidgen Sie meine schreckliche Deutsch!
Tschüss,
James
Hi James,
