on the Leopold I BE 07 (id 1432) i've noticed some things to change in the last PDB version:

there's one STIR-18 (Radar) v0 (id 29), index 7 or 8, too much

as far as i know, no actual ships off that size is "Nuclear Shock Resistant", would you have other infos?

and had some news from navy source:

http://img515.imageshack.us/img515/4303/viewpicgj0.jpg

the two Mk7 20mm Oerlikon v0 (id 56) may be replaced by two 12.7mm/0.50 Twin MG (id 327), the Mk7 20mm Oerlikon Locker v0 (68) may be replaced by 12.7mm MG Locker v0 (id 493).

i also had the confirmation from an ASW instructor at Den Helder and from crew itself that there are no DSBV 61B (Towed Array Sonar) v0 (361) aboard belgian KD frigates.

cheers,

Jan

The information for that platform carried over from HUD2 to the H3DB and then to the PlayersDB. This is by no means an attempt to blame anyone for perceived errors. We appreciate all the fine contributions made by those editors and their generosity in sharing their data, but we have no idea where they got their information from, either. I also looked within the HCDB and found that the Doorman is listed with a DSBV Towed Array sonar.

Could one director have been removed during a re-fit?
Same with the Oerlikon 20mm and the DSBV sonar?

If you need a platform to meet your exacting standards for a particular scenario, we'll add it without question. However, barring that, I think that the PlayersDB will continue to follow in the footsteps of the HCDB and HUD2.

Let us know if you need this specific entry and what date it supposedly starts.

Us? We? Have you now a double personality Herman? ;)

by the way, i'm not blaming anyone, i'm only relaying first hand infos about platforms in your database.

please note that i'm talking about the the two Karel Doorman class frigates bought by Belgium.

the TA sonar have not been bought, i was suspecting it since months but i now have reliable sources that confirmated it.

the third director should have been a typo since there have never been more than two STIR-18, even on the dutch Karel Doorman frigates.

the two Oerlikon have been replaced in the late '90 afaik so the belgian frigates never had the 20mm guns.

cheers,

Jan

Yeah, when there's more than one person working on something, it's usually referred to as a "We" or "Us".

If you need it right away in your configuration, we'll add it as a personal entry. However, without a corresponding change in HCDB, I think that the "standard" PDb entry will be remain consistent with HCDB, at this time. I'll wait for comments from Brad before making any such a significant change.

A new entry has been created for Leopold I. It replaces the previous entry which has been re-classified as "obsolete". It hasn't been removed since someone out there may have used it in a scenario. Thanks for your contribution to the PlayersDB.
