Gents,

We have posted an update at the Shrapnel Games Blogs at:

http://www.shrapnelcommunity.com/blog/

Here are the highlights:

1. We hope to have a BETA DEMO of Air Assault Task Force available to the public in a week or two. It is in final testing now.
2. We are on track for our (new) projected release date of 15DEC06. Barring any unforseen issues, pre-orders will begin in October or November.
3. New screenshots are available for Air Assault Task Force at:

http://www.prosimco.com/aatf.htm

4. Clarification for everyone on what I said in the Wargamer interview about no more Tactical games (I got A LOT of angry e-mail).

http://www.wargamer.com/articles/prosimco_2006_interview/

I will be working on an operational-level game, but ProSIM has many tactical projects in production or on the drawing board, well into the future.

That's about it. Thanks, again, to all our fans, for your support through the years.

Proctor also told us that for him, Air Assault Task Force would be the last tactical wargame he will develop for the foreseeable future. His next project will be an operational-level game that models the build up to the Iraq war. It will model the high-intensity conflict as well as the post-conflict counter-insurgency/political fight. It will also model the impact of domestic U.S. politics on operations and the presence and impact of the world press on the battlefield.

Something to look forward to!

Mogadishu looks great, love the buildings, hell it all looks great. Really looking forward to playing the demo. Also the Iraq project that Bongotastic mentioned sounds very interesting.

I wouldn't hold your breath. It will take at least a year, probably more to put together the next engine.

Wow! There is a Mogadishu scenario group included in AATF? Outstanding - I deployed to Somalia (w/ 110th MI Bn). Impressive that AATF can handle such a complex operation. Looking forward to the new interface as well.
