I've been a lurker for about 2 weeks now, or at least as long as I've heard about this game; I feel now that I've bought it and played the S**T out of it, I should add my voice to the masses. To any prospective buyers I have to say that for me money is a very hard thing to part with, so I did a lot of reading before I bought this title, I encourage you to do the same. 60 dollars is a lot of scroll to slap down for a hobby, though I spent a heck of a lot more for War in the Pacific, even more if you include its precursor UV. In the game I'm at ~day 120 and I've had no problems at all, and my overall impression of the game is: it does what does VERY well, no CTDs, and no major and only one minor bug (see post script below). To be upfront the Japanese Campaign is pretty much in the bag for me right now, though things do change and the Russian Baltic fleet forces have yet to arrive (new campaign scenarios with handicaps would be nice). I'm a bit methodical, so I’ll probably play this campaign out in order to see if it changes any or presents some surprises. I think the Russian campaign is where it's at, for challenge.

Don't think it's boring though, I’ve enjoyed the tactical engagements one and all, always something new and exciting there. If you think a human smacking around the strategic AI of any other game is different, don't; I played Matrix's WITP as the allies until the Japanese stopped playing for want of ships and the play ground down to a slowww pace. That is why my BIGGEST wish for this game is for a multiplayer campaign, a human would have very little trouble handing me my a** I'm sure. If you are on the fence in regards to Distant Guns I recommend it, for what that's worth, 60 bucks is a lot and if you got it to spend, I think you won't be sorry. I don't think I'd spend much more than that though, WITP was 80 if I remember correctly. So I hope they (SES) will make the campaign pack part of the title and the 65 dollar price tag as that in my humble opinion is a great deal. Well thanks to anyone who actually read all this, perhaps I helped someone, or perhaps I helped no one (not the first time, wont be the last). Good gaming all!

-B out!

OT:
P.S. I didn't see a support section but, I think I may have identified an "anomaly". After about Sept. 5th 1904, minefields seem to stop degrading, for what it's worth.

That's a very popular request and I don't see why it would be a problem. Other games of similar type and even bigger scope have done it.

The support section is this whole forum--the devs read and post here. However, if you really want to make sure they know about it, contact them directly at support@stormeaglestuidios.com. They like to receive a save game showing the problem, the game_log.txt file, and any other xxx_log.txt files you find in the folders.
