If you get missing file error messages when running COCAT then chances are you are missing some older DOS based program files that Windows XP does not use and may not be installed on your PC. This is definately for the the newer COCAT II and maybe the older COCAT 2.x version. Here is what you need to do to try correcting the issue. I have found that these 2 MSCOMCTL.OCX and COMDLG32.OCX seem to be the ones that generate the most frequent error messages so start by adding those two first and then testing.
The following system files should be placed in your \windows\system\ or \system32\ folder if you get any messages about missing files! They can be downloaded from COCAT DOWNLOADS (http://www.cmmc2.org/cocat).
msvbvm60.dll
OLEAUT32.DLL
OLEPRO32.DLL
ASYCFILT.DLL
STDOLE2.TLB
COMCAT.DLL
SYSINFO.OCX
MSCOMCTL.OCX
COMDLG32.OCX
If you are seeing similar error messages then these same files may help the older version run as well.
EDIT: Made some typos and needed to clarify some things.
