Had a big time, 5 Japanese CA,s that where trashing my patrols of small boats.
I took my large fleet out and caught them in the open water. I saw for the first time a direct hit from a BB,s large guns on a CA, the ship exploded with two hits and went under in less than 30 seconds, it rolled over on fire , fire that was streaming behind the ship with huge amount of black smoke. The ship rolled over and went under with full steam at 19 knots. Awesome graphics I think.
I was so excited watching it that I did not even take screen shots lol. But the rest of the battle went almost the same. When a BB,s big guns get a direct hit on anything smaller than another BB,s it is catastrophic. One or two blast waves and huge amounts of fire and smoke and then they are gone. This is the first time I have got to see the BB,s in action where they got there before my CA,s and AC,s took care of the fight.
This means I will be up all night now lol.

Thanks for reading guys, just having a great time and wanted to post a win and now a loss lol. I like the Russian fleet, and my 2nd large fleet has not even got to me yet. I might pull this one out if I do not mess up and lose my BB,s.

Hehehe, I know the feeling :). Too bad, though, because this definitely was one I would have wanted to see. I love massive carnage :smoke:

I take it this was at rather long range, with plunging fire? I've not had such luck shooting ACs at shorter ranges. And Novik just now had the luck to survive 2x12" hits (and a few 6" thrown in) at 2000 yards when she stumbled on Togo in the dark. I suppose these all went right on through without exploding, because she lost no speed and only 1 gun. On an AC, however, there's enough armor to burst the BB's shell, but not enough to withstand it. Worst of both worlds, hehehe :). Damn, I wish you'd taken pictures.

I wish I had to but it happend so fast that even if I had been ready I still would have missed most of it.
As to the range yep it was about 4000 M out from my ship. And even when it hit the exsplosin from the shell was loud. I had never head that before. I thought it was awesome. Parts of the ship went everywhere, and I mean a lot of parts, not like from the 15 CM shells. You will see one of these days and then you will know what I mean.

Definately magazine explosion. In my campaing it doesent happen that often but it is devastating when it happens. I have lost one battleship that way and range was around 10 000-11 000m :OHNO:

When the Shell Hit the ship it looked like it hit right around the Smokestacks,
And the stack bent and then a giant flash and Boom. The Shock Wave was big, after that the ship started to Roll and then I think the Mag went. But there was huge Flames and Long trail of Dark Black smoke. The ship went over and sank at full speed so quick that I just had time to get a small grasp on what was going on. It was great as every time I play this game I see more and more things that are in it. I would have never guessed that it would have done this. With the ship going under at full steam. The only thing I am starting to look for is if there is a hole or holes in the hull from the shells or Torpedo's.
When the shell hit the shock wave off the shell was the one that was huge and loud, the second blast was almost as large but not quite. I hope all of you get to see this as it is awesome , at least I think it was.

Once I have generated a battle where "Diana", "Bayan", "Pallada" and "Boyarin" were tackling "Chin En" and the accompanying 320mm PCs. I was amazed how quickly all the Japanese PCs were dispatched - most probably due to the fact that they are very large targets with very little protection. "Chin En" guns were not accurate. But when they hit the "Bayan" twice, the shockwaves were massive, and her fire level skyrocketed to 86%.
I havent really seen much of a BB combat. But now, as the campaign seems to be clean of bugs, I will start putting out to the sea with my BBs and see what I can hunt down and kill

Yea, I can't hardly wait till I find the next convoy or ship so I can move in my BB,s and let them attack. It is awesome when those big shells strike a ship don't you think? And if you are zoomed up to the target ship when it hits you will get a great show with sound.
Now I have 3 Japanese BB,s and 2 CA,s that just attacked my Battle fleet of all my BB,s and most of my CA,s . It was dark when they attacked but when it turned light they tried to disengage but it is two late. I am pounding the BB,s now. I will let you know what the outcome is as this is the biggest battle I have had so far, Now if I can just not lose a bunch of ships till my other fleet gets here I might be able to win this. It still says that the Russians are winning so I must be doing something right. :)

Amazingly in a battle of 4 PC vs. my three fast BB, they didn`t do bad.

The battle occured early in the morning, at a starting range of around 5,500 metres. I turned my line a little towards the PC and was going on parrallel course at a Range of around 3,000 metres, hoping my better armour would withstand. I concentrated my fire on the lead ship, and when a considerable amount of guns were silenced, switched to the next ship. Then I kept pounding the two lead ships again, which suffered havy damage. But even with several hits from the big guns, there was no catastrophic effect on them.

The five DD entered the scene. As I already was suspicious why the PC didn`t try to escape, I thought there maybe even more ships under the horizon and I ordered a "Gefechtskehrtwendung". The DD were shortening Distance fast and I blew the out of the water, but I was right, a mayor TF came up, 8 AC and 8 BB. Fourtenatly, there were only going 18 knots as my BB did.

When I was trying to disengage, one of the PC sank, the other dead in the water, heavily listing, two escaping with light damage. Shortly after the battle ended, scoring 5 DD and one PC for me, only some 75mm guns damaged on "Tsarevitsch". The almost dead, which problay would have been gone a few minutes later was scored as "heavily damaged". Oh, well, but I think it will takes months to let her see action again....

Oh, yea that one will spend a year in the ship yard before it will sail again. Its fun playing this and being able to command a fleet. I find myself all tense making sure that I have tried to think of everything I could to win the battle. lol

lol,

I just had a battle in the aftermath, guess who showed up? Right, said PC. Oki, she slowed down the whole division to 9 knots but she was listed with moderate damage level only. Luckily for them they had the capital ships in the back, otherwise..... ;)

I`ve seen own PC in the scenarios in that condition, no way she would have sailed one more mile. My bet is, when the battle ended the ship was fully on fire with no hope to recover `cause the crew would have had considerable losses too.

To say it friendly, the tracking and treating of ships after battle end in the campaign (together with the disengaging or battle stops) is ready for some slight improvements. ;)

I still like this game very much, one of these where I have to force myself to end the game and not playing until late into the night.
