Game Replay? How?

Hello sorry if this has been asked and answered, but I cannot for the life of me figure out the game replay function in TOAW:3.

I have two games going, and noticed image files being created in one of my subdirectories, I guess those are used for the replay.

But how do you replay a game (that is, watch the replay?)

It's not for replay, those bmps are a micomap, good for movies generated by gif animator. The other is a 2d small map.

I was thinking of the feature in TOAWIII that's supposed to watch replays.

Not just of the most recent opps move, but as a rolling view of the whole battle. Is that done in animated gifs a perp has to put together on his own?? I thought it was a feature that TOAW3 added.

Not sure if the bmps you mentioned are a part of it, and I haven't been able to RTFM due to time constraints.....if a kind soul can point me to the "how to" in the manual, I'd luv ya 4evah

There is the facility to watch a playback of your opponents moves in PBEM games, but that's probably not what you're thinking of. Then there's the option called "movies" that is new to T3. You turn on "movies" thusly:

Once having turned it on you will find that there are bmp files written to your directory after the turn ends. One will be the entire game map and one will be the minimap view ( with red and blue dots for unit representations on it ).

You can convert these bmp files to GIF files and then string them together with GIFanimator.exe to make movies.
