Campaign was going pretty well and i was capturing or sinking neutrals and ausiliary cruisers, then passed a lot of time and i did not encounter anything for days, intensively patrolling western corean and japanese cosast, as well as tsushima straight, anyone else experienced this?

Do you have the shipping lanes (F3 key) map overlay on? That might show you something interesting.

I've noticed that you can often get a pretty good idea of where merchants are by keeping track of how the colors of the shipping lane dots change over time. The darker the color, the more ships are going through there. It also appears that when the last of a group of ships in a lane moves on, the dots fade out behind it. For instance, the game starts with medium dots (secondary lane) running from the Hakodate area across the Sea of Japan several hexes out from the coast in a straight line to the Western Passage of the Tsushima Straits. After a couple days, however, the NE end of this line starts turning very light (tertiary lane) and the medium color comes to an end about 1/2way between Hakodate and Tsushima. I have to assume the color change marks the end of the main group of ships going this way, and my raiders should concentrate more towards the Tsushima end.

I also think the AI reacts to your predation of its merchants by routing them away from your know positions. It also knows that your ships out there now will have to go back home eventually, so it's probably putting merchants in ports as close as possible to their destinations, waiting for you to leave before sending them on the final leg of their journeys. But you might be able to get some idea about this from looking at the map dots, too.

Thank you very much for your reply bullethead, but i alredy looked at the dots and passed over a mount, then i waithed for a mounth in port without doing anything (gone out to buy cigarettes when the computer was running) and i restarted patrolling but nothing... plus there is one of my vladivastok raider that diserted because i ordered back to port but nothing.. ordered to change position and nothing.. it says (enganged) or enganging i don' t remember next to his position

Yes, I experienced it too. It happened sometime in March 1904 and continued through mid-April, at which point I started a new campaign.

There was some thought that it may have been related to running the game at 10,000 x acceleration. I'm not going above 1,000 x in my current game. So far no problem, but I have not gotten into March yet.

I was aware of the 10000x problems and i did not use this, i opened this thread to realize if it is a bug and if is the case to send the save files to SES or it is just a problem with my tactic, because i don't want to hassle them for nothing. One more thing, japanese throops landed at chamulpo?, so i reloaded the game and i started mining intensively it and the near port and i sent the 1st battleship division along the coast, but nothing. Of course they can had slipped undetected but all this plus the diserting divison induce me to think for a bug. This games are so complex that things like this are unavoidable, of course if i liked FPS this would not happen, but can the satisfaction of a strategy games be compared...

Italian-American. My grandfather came from a small town north of Caserta called Alvignano. I spent a year in Bologna in grad school and 2 years in Rome working. I didn't have one bad meal the whole three years! :yummy:

FYI....After you get the (engaged) bug with one of your TFs, you typically do not get any more engagements... this bug has been reported and I believe being squashed as we speak....

You seem to be learning English very well. Keep at it and you will speak better than we do in no time. :)

But until resolved the bug can be avoided just saving the game and reloading the last position before it appared. Thank you now i know what to do

Has the last update cleaned this bug anyway?
