did anyone watch the programme last night on the national geographic channel (UK) about the Russalka?

No did not ever see that one. But I'm in the U.S.
But I do have just about every DVD that there is out on WWII naval warfare and ground warfare.
The battle films that where big a few years back. I found about 57 DVD,s at a sale for 10 usd and I got them all. I love to watch them as they are great.
The film that you are speaking of will be shown here in the U.S , as after they are on there they put them on cable here in a few months, I will try to see if it comes on.

Saw it about six months ago here on Canada's History Television which produces "The Sea Hunters". Good episode.

I also liked the episode about Chile's Arturo Prat and his ship, the Esmeralda, and the Battle of Iquique in 1879. Interesting that they showed the inside of the monitor Huascar which was captured from Peru.
