Isambard Brunel did!

I didn't find the demo very inspiring and was thinking of passing, but then I caught a documentry on the construction of the SS Great Eastern. Needless to say it reminded me of my interest for steam & iron and no longer could I resist!

I do hope one of SES's future projects will give us the option to command from the bridge and/or the ability to walk around the ship itself.

Thanks again guys for something original :D

Heheh, the "Little Giant" was quite a character, wasn't he?

Anyway, glad you decided to get the game anyway. I'm sure you'll find the campaign much more inspiring than a single tactical battle in isolation, especially if you don't know why that battle was fought in the 1st place. Having a campaign to put the battles into context is very attractive to me, though.

Maybe they could improve the demo by including a brief campaign scenario. Something like the "War" campaign's start, only with all the ships ready to go immediately, and a time limit of 24 game hours. Then you could see how the campaign engine creates battles, and also have a chance to look at all the ships in the game.

I think what threw me was entering a battle that already started. If I had just a little manuvering room before the shells started flying it would've helped me get a better picture.

I plan on starting a campaign soon, for the moment I've been messing around with the mission generator, which if modified would make a good demo without giving too much away.
