Cross Club Tournament

Gentlemen there is a Cross Club Tournament being orginized by Vulture. Offers have gone out to CMHQ-PL and Band of Brothers. This from what i have gleened is a CMBO Tournament.

Here is The website to look at and it seems to be a 10 player team type.

Okay guys

Here's a quick update for you. Planning for the tournament is forging ahead, and the current position is that:

CMHQ-PL can definately field one team and are recruiting a second.

Band Of Brothers advertised the tournament yesterday, and already have half a team together.

Appui-Feu the french club are currently having problems after being attacked by a Turkish hacker. They hope to have their web site up on Sunday 20th and will start to recruit players then.

The Blitz can field 2 teams and are on their way to a 3rd, in which case one team will split off for the FGM contingent.


My thoughts for this tournament are to keep things nice and straightforward. Everyone will play the same scenario which will be supplied by me. Half of each team will play as the Axis, and half as the Allies.

The scenario I have in mind utilises a mirror map, and very balanced equal sides, and is quite entertaining to play. The setting is Normandy 44.

My thoughts at the moment are to give players an opportunity to look and try the scenario out, prior to the start of the tournament.

You'll probably want to install some mods too.. those early CM stock graphics are a bit, well, garish shall we say.. :surprise:

Yes, its a meeting engagement. The scenario in question has been played several times. One side historically has a very slight advantage, but this can be negated by use of tactics. As half of each team will fight as Axis and half as Allied, it is still an absolutely equal fight from a team perspective :)


A quick update.........

I'm hoping to start the tournament later this week.

CMHQ-PL have confirmed they have 2 full teams.

Band of Brothers are only 1 person short of a full team.

No word from the French club, although I see they have their web site back up after the hack attack, so hopefully I 'll get some feedback tonight

We have to have a team before the 29th which is the launch date.

There are two other options:
1] We can have some spare players from the blitz fit into our team and they will not play other Blitz players.

OR

2] We play to games to make up for our short fall ..... need to know ASAP will Pm those already interested.

Main differences are...

Infantry are as hard as Nails! :bite:
Tanks do not work in platoons. :(
Most penetrations are outright kills!:hush:
No covered arcs (instead you get crappy 'ambush' markers). :freak:
MGs dop not have added 'area fire' effects :shock:

Sorry to put you under pressure, but I have a deadline for you of 19:00 GMT today. Unless I have the details as previously requested I will have to (reluctantly) start the tournament without SZO.

I have already delayed the start by 2 days, and due to personal committments and time away from home (and a PC) from tommorrow my time for CM is going to be incredibly limited for the next 5 to 7 days.

I'm not prepared to delay things again, so it has to start tonight...........

Sorry for the delay but I've been waiting to hear back from the other 5 members who will be playing. I've been sending group e-mails of analysis and requests for preferences and so far only Mangus2000 and the Hooded One have shown any real interest by responding to some of my questions. If I don't get any feedback very quickly (like this evening) I'm afraid SZO will have to drop out. I don't think the 3 of us want to take on 10 games. :angry:
