Have the desktop color set to 16bit and am still not getting the contour and color map option. I didn't get it in the Demo, but now I have all the games installed with patches and still will not do it, option is greyed out.
Or do only certain maps handle this option?
Thanks
Update: Okay I went and found a Setup file and changed:
[disable contour over color]TRUE
To
[disable contour over color]FALSE
And I now get the option, but it looks like it is still just switching between color and contour and not combining.

This is one of those situations where you might have to switch between setup files. ATF and Raging Tiger has a different background color for the maps that TSATC and TFW.
This page explains the offending setup settings:
http://www.prosimco.com/atf/tutorial/tfw1_configuration_file.htm
These are the settings that need to be changed (they need to reflect the background color of the map you want to see in contour over color:
[contour map background red]
[contour map background green]
[contour map background blue]

Okay, because I did get at least one to work right. My setup file looks like this:
[title bitmap]admin_mod_title.bmp
[html start page]TSATC_Campaign_Start.html
[huge html start page]TRUE
[disable contour over color]FALSE
[no contour grid lines]TRUE
[enemy SITTEMP replacement text]Enemy Situation
[html font]Helvetica
[NATO replacement text]Operational Symbols
[title red]49
[title green]48
[title blue]49
[database name]TSATC.dbs
[illumination icon bitmap]admin_mod_illumination_icons.bmp
[no clock dialog]TRUE
[magnify map drawing]TRUE
[global skill level]False
[maneuver graphics red]0
[maneuver graphics green]0
[maneuver graphics blue]255
[SITTEMP graphics red]255
[SITTEMP graphics green]0
[SITTEMP graphics blue]0
[game title]The Star and the Crescent
[vehicle specs in browser]TRUE
[order in browser]TRUE
[link file name]tsatc_link.txt
[overview map color depth]50
[overview map red]206
[overview map green]206
[overview map blue]148
Can I browse the CD's, locate the setup file for each title and place the one I want or can I put in default settings that will owrk no matter what title the scenario comes from?

The easiest way would be to load the maps in a program like paint shop pro and figure out what the background color is, and then create a setup.txt file for each set of maps.

Let me point out that TSATC was meant to NOT have the contour over color option on! If that is the last game installed, then you won't have those options even in your file! Just add them to the .txt file and put the right color combination. I warn you, however, that the TSATC maps will look pretty nasty!

I've noticed that at least the Raging Tiger maps look really bad once zoomed in all the way. Is this just the limitation of the maps in that game?

The map engine has vastly improved over the series. Since ATF and Raging Tiger were primarily armor games, not a lot of focus was put on resolution at zoom. We have since addressed this issue, and you will find that TFW and TSATC both have much better looking maps at high zoom levels.

Yeah I deffinetly could notice the change.
